Job summary

Richards Building Supply in Calumet City, IL is seeking a Warehouse Associate to receive materials, load trucks, and manage inventory. Occasional deliveries in the company pickup truck may be required.

Typical schedule Monday–Friday 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM with potential overtime during busy seasons. The role offers an hourly rate of $18–$22 with benefits and a family-owned company culture.

Qualifications

• Stand and bend for full shift and manage lifting tasks.
• Forklift experience is preferred.
• Strong communication with coworkers, vendors and customers.

• Follow safety policies and wear required PPE.
• Overtime may be available during peak periods.

Responsibilities

• Receive materials and verify counts.
• Load trucks and secure loads per DOT guidelines.
• Process inventory and maintain accurate records.
• Provide warehouse support including shipping/receiving.
• Pull orders for walk-in customers.
• Maintain safety and cleanliness of the warehouse.

Qualifications

• High School degree or GED.
• Ability to stand, bend, twist, through complete shift.
• Forklift experience desired.
• Ability to communicate with co-workers, vendors, and customers (verbal and written)
• Positive attitude and team player.
• Adhering to all safety policies, including wearing safety harness and other required equipment.
• Work Monday through Friday and opportunity for overtime during the busy season.

Requirements

• Must be able to continually lift 50-100 lbs. of material throughout the day. Some lifting over 100 lbs. will be required.
• Load trucks with material scheduled for the day’s deliveries within compliance of securing and distributing weight limits according to DOT regulations.
• Providing superior customer service
• Double checking all loads for accuracy and ensuring that they are thoroughly secured for delivery
• Providing warehouse support including shipping/receiving
• Pulling order for walk-in customers
• Must have a clean driving record

$18 - $22 an hour

Salary based upon experience and knowledge of our industry.
