Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a Warehouse Technician in Ashburn, VA. This contract role involves receiving materials, unloading trucks, and using a warehouse software system to log movements and inventory. The schedule aligns with a 9/80 pattern, with some overtime during peak periods.

The position is fully onsite in Ashburn, VA. The candidate will operate a forklift, verify shipments against PO and packing lists, and ensure accurate distribution of materials.

Job Title: Warehouse Technician

Job Description

Position Overview

Receives material and equipment, unloads trucks, checks in merchandise by matching purchase orders to vendor packing lists. Drives forklift to store and unload material as needed. Records entry of materials or distribution of material/equipment through use of warehouse software system. Reads work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed and/or shipped. Moves materials and items from receiving or storage areas to shipping or to other designated areas. Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code. Fills requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes items to shipping or to designated route driver storage area. Marks materials with identifying information using appropriate methods. Opens boxes, crates, and other containers. Assists with counting of physical inventory. Weighs and counts items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards. Sweeps, dusts, and mops and organizes warehouse and work area for orderliness at all times. Ensures warehouse is accessible and safe. Performs other duties as required. This position may require exposure to information which is subject to US export control regulations, i.e. the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).

Work Environment

This position is based in a climate-controlled facility with a focus on bench assembly work involving electronic components. The standard schedule runs from 6:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Fridays. The role follows a 9/80 schedule, with limited overtime currently, primarily every other week in alignment with that schedule. Additional hours, including some Saturday mornings, are expected to be available from October through December. Work is performed at assembly benches and in warehouse areas where inventory, shipping, and receiving activities take place, requiring appropriate work attire suitable for a production and warehouse environment.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
