Job summary

S&J Plumbing in Arlington Heights is seeking a Purchasing and Inventory Coordinator to optimize technician stock, track inventory, and support growth through efficient warehouse operations.

You will work with Service Titan, manage vendor relationships, and ensure safety and accountability in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

The Role

You will be contributing to the company’s plan by always looking for ways to improve technician efficiency by having the proper truck stock, limited warehouse stock outs, accurate inventory counts, and efficient part runner dispatching. You will ensure that we are able to accomplish our growth plans by having new vehicles onsite and ready for new staff as they come onboard. You will ensure that our vendor relationships are strong and a win for both parties. You will maintain a safe and accountable workplace.

Responsibilities

Strong understanding of Service Titan for inventory management

Buyback program for excess inventory, as needed

Maintainprocess for accountability of techs for truck inventory

Maintainthe truck stocking/bin layout mapping

Optimize parts request process

Asset tracking (tools and vehicles) – tying to depreciation schedule

Maintain up to date material pricing in Service Titan

Maintainthe vehicle procurement and disposal process

Use knowledge of supply house product offering, best price, strengths and locations to maximize efficiency and save the company money

Meet individual goals and KPI\’s

Maintain annual budget, control expenses and meet or exceed plan

Meetperformance requirementsto ensure that accuracy and safety goals are met

Participate inweekly 1 v 1 meetings

Participatein 100-day plans, including follow up during weekly 1 v 1

Manage staff fielding calls from tech/install crews on materials needed for jobs. Facilitating the best place to source and use warehouse staff to deliver. Then coordinate deliveries to and from job sites

Vehicle maintenance – tracking, scheduling, maintenance, and repairs

Manage tool maintenance and repairs

Maintaintool and equipment check in/out process

Warehouse/Safety

Maintainwarehousemaximize efficiency to streamline operations

Ensures warehouse is neat & clean

Competencies for Success

You should have experience in supply chain, operations, and inventory management

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

Self-starter/resourceful - able to independently work, learn and plan with minimal guidance to drive tasks to conclusion

Experience with inventory management software

Strong interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with different company departments

The ability to understand and drive key performance indicators

Capable of learning on the fly with a focus on problem-solving
