New Family Health in Honolulu, Hawaii is seeking a Ward Clerk/Staffing Coordinator to organize nursing schedules and ensure full shift coverage across departments.

A high school diploma is required; college degree preferred, and prior healthcare experience is helpful.
The Ward Clerk/Staffing Coordinator will be responsible for preparing and maintaining nursing schedules to ensure adequate shift coverage across all departments. This role requires monitoring daily shift assignments and responding promptly to last-minute call-outs by arranging appropriate coverage to maintain continuity of care. The position includes answering incoming phone calls and directing inquiries to the appropriate personnel. Additional responsibilities include scheduling resident appointments and coordinating transportation services as needed. The coordinator will assist with uploading and managing documents within our electronic systems and perform other duties as assigned by the nursing department to support overall operations.
Candidates must demonstrate a positive attitude and approach all interactions with professionalism and enthusiasm. Effective verbal and written communication skills are essential for this role. The successful candidate must be able to deal tactfully and courteously with residents, families, staff members, and visitors in all situations. Patience and composure under pressure are critical attributes for managing the demands of this position. Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively while multitasking in a dynamic environment are required. The coordinator must be able to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
A high school diploma or equivalent is required for this position. A college degree is preferred and will be considered favorably. Candidates must have one to two years of experience working in a healthcare setting. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel is required, including the ability to create spreadsheets, format documents, and manage data efficiently.
