Job summary

Wirral University Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Ward Clerk for Ward 19 to support the smooth operation of the ward. The role involves handling sensitive patient information with confidentiality, coordinating admissions/discharges and assisting nursing staff with day-to-day admin tasks.

The successful candidate will manage demographic checks, transport arrangements, clinic coordination and documentation, contributing to efficient patient flow within a busy hospital

Responsibilities

• Check demographic details on admission and discharge
• Arrange patient transport to other hospitals/departments
• Answer the telephone, take messages or transfer calls
• Co-ordinate outpatient appointments with clinic clerk prior to discharge
• Prepare discharged patient paperwork for scanning
• Provide support to nursing staff for general patient requests
• Liaise with Informatics regarding electronic equipment
• Communicate with Transfer of care Hub and patient flow
• Support in completing family and friend feedbacks
• Assist ward manager with administration tasks
