The Block in New York is seeking a Wall Street Reporter to cover the evolving intersection of traditional finance and digital assets. This role requires being on the ground in New York and building relationships with banks, asset managers, and institutional desks.

You will break news, cultivate sources, and deliver fast, accurate reporting, investigations, and features from a fully remote setting with location-based pay. The role offers opportunities to appear on podcasts and at events.

Qualifications

• Proven experience reporting on Wall Street or institutional finance.
• Experience reporting on cryptocurrency and digital assets preferred.
• Track record of breaking news and cultivating sources in finance.
• Strong understanding of financial markets, instruments, and filings.
• Ability to write quickly, clearly, and accurately under deadline.

Responsibilities

• Report on Wall Street's engagement with digital assets and institutions.
• Break news and land industry-defining scoops.
• Build and maintain a network of sources across trading desks and asset managers.
• Verify market data, regulatory filings, and earnings data.
