Job summary

Carter Lumber is seeking a Wall Panel Designer to design plans for quoting and production of wall panels, ensuring drawings are accurate and timely based on blueprints provided by customers.

You will read blueprints, use MiTek or equivalent software, and collaborate with production teams and store managers to resolve questions, maintaining design standards and quality.

Responsibilities

• Creates design illustrations based on blueprints to produce working drawings for fabrication.
• Completes and finalizes designs for production and assembly.
• Evaluates designs to ensure design standards are met.
• Reviews specifications, blueprints and drawings to determine factors affecting design.
• Communicates with production teams, customers and Store Managers to ensure designs are accurate throughout the process.
• Assists stores in responding to questions/concerns from customers.

A Carter Lumber Wall Panel Designer is responsible for designing plans for the quoting and production ofwall panels. Ensures drawings are produced accurately and timely based off of blueprints provided by customers. Requires the knowledge of commonly used framing concepts and practices within the construction industry. A strong belief in the mission and goals of the company are necessary to this position.

Requirements

• Experience in designing residential and commercialwall panels
• General computer knowledge
• Experience with MiTekand/or equivalent wall panel design software
• Ability to read and comprehend blueprints
• Attention to detail, takes pride in quality of work
• Efficient and able to complete orders within a given deadline
• Knowledge of standard construction practices, codes and carpentry

Responsibilities

Designing:

• Creates design illustrations based from blueprints to produce working drawings for fabrication.

Analyzes and Troubleshoots:

• Reviews and analyzes specifications, blueprints, engineered drawings and related designs to determine factors affecting design of the wall panels.

Support:

• Communicates with production teams, customers and Store Managers to ensure designs are accurate throughout the process.
• Assists stores in responding to questions/concerns from customers.
