Job summary

Carter Lumber in Newton Falls, Ohio seeks a Wall Panel Designer to create design illustrations from customer blueprints for fabrication and to finalize drawings for production. The role requires reading blueprints, applying standard construction practices, and using MiTek or equivalent software with strong attention to detail.

The designer collaborates with production teams and stores to ensure designs stay accurate through the process and meets deadlines while delivering quality panels.

Job description

A Carter Lumber Wall Panel Designer is responsible for designing plans for the quoting and production ofwall panels. Ensures drawings are produced accurately and timely based off of blueprints provided by customers. Requires the knowledge of commonly used framing concepts and practices within the construction industry. A strong belief in the mission and goals of the company are necessary to this position.

Requirements

• Experience in designing residential and commercialwall panels
• General computer knowledge
• Experience with MiTekand/or equivalent wall panel design software
• Ability to read and comprehend blueprints
• Attention to detail, takes pride in quality of work
• Efficient and able to complete orders within a given deadline
• Knowledge of standard construction practices, codes and carpentry
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Communicates effectively with team members
• MUST BE AUTHORIZED TO WORK IN THE U.S.

Responsibilities

Designing:

• Creates design illustrations based from blueprints to produce working drawings for fabrication.
• Completes and finalizes designs for production and assembly.
• Evaluates designs to ensure that design standards are being met.

Analyzes and Troubleshoots:

• Reviews and analyzes specifications, blueprints, engineered drawings and related designs to determine factors affecting design of the wall panels.

Support:

• Communicates with production teams, customers and Store Managers to ensure designs are accurate throughout the process.
• Assists stores in responding to questions/concerns from customers.
