Job summary

Carter Lumber is seeking a Wall Panel Designer to create design illustrations from blueprints for fabrication and production. The role requires reading blueprints, strong attention to detail, and experience with MiTek or equivalent software.

You will collaborate with production teams and store managers to ensure accuracy throughout the process, and you will respond to customer questions with clear, informed guidance. This full-time position supports growth and internal promotion opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience in designing residential and commercial wall panels.
• General computer knowledge and software proficiency.
• Experience with MiTek and/or equivalent wall panel design software.
• Ability to read and comprehend blueprints.
• Attention to detail and pride in quality of work.
• Efficient and able to complete orders within deadlines.
• Knowledge of standard construction practices, codes and carpentry.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Communicates effectively with team members.
• MUST BE AUTHORIZED TO WORK IN THE U.S.

Responsibilities

• Creates design illustrations based from blueprints to produce working drawings for fabrication.
• Completes and finalizes designs for production and assembly.
• Evaluates designs to ensure that design standards are being met.
• Reviews and analyzes specifications, blueprints, engineered drawings and related designs to determine factors affecting design of the wall panels.
• Communicates with production teams, customers and Store Managers to ensure designs are accurate throughout the process.
• Assists stores in responding to questions/concerns from customers.
