Lumbercontacts.com is seeking a Senior Wall Panel and Engineered Lumber Designer in Central Massachusetts. The successful candidate will create design illustrations using Mitek Sapphire and ensure that designs meet industry standards. Previous experience in the construction industry and knowledge of architectural plans are essential.

This full-time position offers an annual salary of $65,000 to $75,000 and comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, and 401(k) plans.

Qualifications

• Ability to analyze, troubleshoot and problem solve.

Wall Panel and Engineered Lumber Designer

Full-time. Central Massachusetts lumberyard.

Our client is looking for a Senior Wall Panel designer with Mitek Sapphire experience who would be responsible for designing plans for engineered wood products. Ensures drawings are produced accurately and timely based on blueprints provided by customers. Requires knowledge of commonly used concepts and practices within the construction industry. A strong belief in the mission and goals of the company is necessary for this position.

Responsibilities

• Creates design illustrations using Mitek Sapphire based on blueprints to produce working drawings for fabrication.
• Completes and finalizes designs for production and assembly.
• Evaluates designs to ensure that design standards are being met.
• Reviews and analyzes specifications, blueprints, engineered drawings and related designs to determine factors affecting design of the wall, truss and engineered wood components.
• Communicates with production teams, customers and principal to ensure designs are accurate throughout the process. Assists in responding to questions/concerns from customers.

Qualifications

• Knowledgeable in the basic aspects of construction.
• Previous experience using Mitek Sapphire truss, engineered wood product or wall panel design software.
• High level of knowledge in the application of the products being designed.
• Competency in basic mathematics, geometry and trigonometry.
• Knowledgeable in reading architectural and structural plans.
• Ability to analyze, troubleshoot and problem solve.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Working knowledge of Mitek Sapphire, Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook.

Compensation and Benefits

$65,000 to $75,000 annually.
