Job summary

Carter Lumber is seeking a Wall Panel Designer to create design illustrations from blueprints for fabrication and production. You will finalize designs, review drawings, and ensure standards are met while coordinating with production teams and customers to keep projects accurate and on schedule.

The role requires experience designing residential and commercial wall panels, blueprints literacy, and proficiency with MiTek or equivalent software, with strong attention to detail and effective

A Carter Lumber Wall Panel Designer is responsible for designing plans for the quoting and production ofwall panels. Ensures drawings are produced accurately and timely based off of blueprints provided by customers. Requires the knowledge of commonly used framing concepts and practices within the construction industry. A strong belief in the mission and goals of the company are necessary to this position.

Requirements
  • Experience in designing residential and commercialwall panels
  • General computer knowledge
  • Experience with MiTekand/or equivalent wall panel design software
  • Ability to read and comprehend blueprints
  • Attention to detail, takes pride in quality of work
  • Efficient and able to complete orders within a given deadline
  • Knowledge of standard construction practices, codes and carpentry
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Communicates effectively with team members
  • MUST BE AUTHORIZED TO WORK IN THE U.S.
Responsibilities
Designing:
  • Creates design illustrations based from blueprints to produce working drawings for fabrication.
  • Completes and finalizes designs for production and assembly.
  • Evaluates designs to ensure that design standards are being met.
Analyzes and Troubleshoots:
  • Reviews and analyzes specifications, blueprints, engineered drawings and related designs to determine factors affecting design of the wall panels.
Support:
  • Communicates with production teams, customers and Store Managers to ensure designs are accurate throughout the process.
  • Assists stores in responding to questions/concerns from customers.
