Carter Lumber seeks a Whole House Designer to design roof trusses, wall panels, and EWP from customer blueprints for fabrication. The role ensures accurate, timely drawings and supports production with strong problem‑solving and collaboration.

Required MiTek experience, knowledge of truss components, and proficiency in MS Office; strong math and plan-reading skills are essential for success. Growth opportunities exist within the team.

Qualifications

• MiTek experience required; SE trained is preferred.
• Strong basic construction knowledge and ability to read plans.
• Experience using truss software and evaluating design options.
• Proficient in math, geometry, and trigonometry for design calculations.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with teams.

Responsibilities

• Creates roof trusses, wall panels, and EWP floor designs from blueprints for fabrication.
• Produces working drawings; finalizes designs for production and assembly.
• Reviews specifications and drawings to ensure design standards are met.
• Communicates with production, customers, and sales to ensure design accuracy.
