Job summary

The Alzheimer’s Association is seeking a Manager, Walk to End Alzheimer’s in Charlottesville/central Virginia to lead peer-to-peer fundraising, recruit and empower volunteers, and cultivate partnerships with sponsors and community leaders. You will travel regionally, manage committees, and drive revenue growth across multiple Walk events.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, 3+ years in volunteer mobilization or fundraising, and strong relationship-building skills to execute

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• 3 years of proven experience in recruiting and mobilizing volunteers to achieve goals
• Preferred peer-to-peer fundraising experience or equivalent sales background
• Confident, goal-oriented, positive self-starter able to work independently with limited supervision and collaboratively with internal and external partners
• Demonstrated ability to form and develop corporate relationships and partnerships

Responsibilities

• Responsible for all aspects of the Danville, Lynchburg, Harrisonburg Walk to End Alzheimer’s
• Recruit, train, coach and manage volunteers to meet revenue and team goals
• Build relationships with volunteers, participants, sponsors and community leaders as well as corporate partners
• Oversee volunteer committee development, recruiting, retention, budget, timeline, marketing/PR and logistics
• Cultivate Walk to End Alzheimer’s teams, sponsors and walkers to hit development targets
• Maximize team participation to reach revenue goals by retaining and recruiting new groups
