Job summary

First for Support is seeking a compassionate Waking Night Support Worker to join our team in Weymouth. You’ll provide care to children and young people in residential settings, helping with routines, activities and emotional well‑being during night shifts.

This temporary role offers flexible shifts, including nights, sleep-ins, weekends and long days. You’ll work with a supportive professional network across Weymouth, with weekly pay and a dedicated consultant for ongoing guidance.

Qualifications

• Have previous experience in a similar role as a Waking Night Support Worker and are comfortable with lone working.
• Are reliable, professional and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and enjoy building meaningful relationships.
• Are Caring, patient and resilient.
• Are able to remain calm in challenging situations
• Committed to safeguarding and promoting children’s welfare.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality care and support to children and young people.
• Build positive and trusting relationships.
• Support daily routines, activities and independence.
• Promote positive behaviour and emotional well‑being.
• Follow care plans, risk assessments and safeguarding procedures.
• Complete accurate daily records and reports.
