Job description

The server greets the guests at the door or at the table according to Scores service standards. He or she presents the menu, makes suggestions, and answers questions related to food and beverages. He or she uses sales techniques, takes orders, and serves guests according to Scores customer service policies. The server prepares table settings and serves meals and desserts. He or she may perform the same functions as the hostess and the counter person.

Main functions

1. Greets the customers, presents the menu, makes suggestions, and answers all questions about the food and beverages;
2. Takes orders and transmits them to the kitchen staff through the POS system;
3. Serves meals and ensures quality service in the dining room, complying with the Scores customer service steps;
4. Performs the preparation and service of beverages, wines, alcohols, and cocktails while complying with the Mikes customer service steps;
5. Prepares and serves dessert;
6. Prepares the bills for meals and beverages, takes cash, makes change, and balances daily financial transactions;
7. Takes reservations and greets the take-out counter customers;
8. Uses sales techniques;
9. Maintains a professional appearance;
10. Applies health regulations regarding cleanliness;
11. Applies safety regulations;
12. Applies the Work Hazardous Materials Information System;
13. Complies with equipment usage guidelines;
14. Complies with maintenance guidelines for the restaurant and equipment;
15. Ensures his or her work area is clean;
16. Organizes his or her work and work area efficiently;
17. Clears and cleans the tables in the dining room;
18. Executes all other tasks as requested by the supervisor.

Requirements

Experience in restaurant operations may be required. On-the-job training is provided. A certain level of manual dexterity is required. An understanding of complex situations, attention to detail, and openness to change are required. Interpersonal skills, facility with meeting people, teamwork, collaboration, adaptability, good verbal communication skills, and listening skills are required. Good personal grooming, confidence, integrity, ability to manage stress, dynamism, autonomy, and flexibility are required.

Working conditions

The schedule varies according to the position and may include days, nights, or weekends. Occasional night work is required. Part-time work is available. The schedule can include split shifts.
