Job summary

Eskaton Properties, Inc. in California seeks a courteous Food Service Associate to join our dining team. You will assist with meal service, stock stations, and support residents with menus according to dietary needs, while maintaining safety and cleanliness.

Qualifications

• Education: High school graduation or equivalent G.E.D., preferred.
• Training and Experience: Previous experience in restaurant or food service preferred; California Food Handler.
• Knowledge and Abilities: Understanding of quality customer service and satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Sets wait station(s) and keeps station stocked and cleaned.
• Busses and resets tables as needed.
• Takes resident meal orders according to prescribed diets and allergies, with courteous service.
• Assists with preparing plates and serving residents.
• Performs opening and closing duties promptly and efficiently.
• Keeps Cooks and Supervisor/Manager informed of questions or problems.
• Assists at special events as requested.
• Familiar with food service disaster plan.

Essential Job Functions

• Sets wait station(s) and keeps station well stocked and cleaned.

• Assists with preparing plates and serving residents.

• Keeps Cooks and Supervisor/Manager on Duty informed of questions, reactions, comments or problems that may arise.
• Assists at special events as requested.
• Familiar with food service disaster plan.

Compensation

Starting pay ranges from $17.40 per hour - $20.96 per hour. Factors such as scope, responsibilities, experience, education, job‑related skills, internal equity, and market considerations may influence base pay.

Qualifications

Education: High school graduation or equivalent G.E.D., preferred.

Training and Experience: Previous experience working in a restaurant or food service establishment preferred. California Food Handler.

Knowledge and Abilities: Understanding of the philosophy of quality customer service and satisfaction.

Work Conditions & Physical Requirements

• Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.

The final candidate must successfully pass Eskaton's post‑offer, pre‑employment testing which includes a criminal background check, drug test, TB screen test and health screen. All new hires are required to sign an arbitration agreement as a condition of employment.
