Job description

Responsible for performing routine to complex diagnostic and therapeutic technical procedures in the MRI department under the direction of a physician.

• Performs quality assurance checks on equipment and procedure areas.
• Ensures proper safety standards are met.
• Operates required equipment necessary to produce scans using established guidelines and MRI protocols.
• Properly identifies and explains procedures to patients.
• Starts IV access according to standard procedures and injects media under the direction of a physician.
• Prepares and positions patients for procedures by using established MRI protocols to achieve the highest quality images.
• Instructs students and residents and performs preceptor duties when necessary.
• Assists in maintaining supply inventory.
• Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Position Compensation Range: $33.27 - $53.23 Hourly

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Education: Graduate of a JRC accredited program in Radiography required. Associate’s Degree preferred. Eligible for ARRT (MR) certification required.
• Experience: No experience required.
• Licensure: Must be licensed in X-Ray, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, or Radiation Therapy by one or more of the following agencies: ARRT, ARDMS, or NMTCB. MR Certification via the ARRT required within one year of hire. American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider BLS certification required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping, reaching (overhead, extensive, and repetitive); Repetitive motion: computer keyboard. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 50 - 100 lbs. May be exposed to cold, dust, noise, radiation, blood/body fluids, and infectious diseases.
