Job description

Responsible for performing routine to complex diagnostic and therapeutic technical procedures in the MRI department under the direction of a physician.

1. Performs quality assurance checks on equipment and procedure areas.
2. Ensures proper safety standards are met.
3. Operates required equipment necessary to produce scans using established guidelines and MRI protocols.
4. Properly identifies and explains procedures to patients.
5. Starts IV access according to standard procedures and injects media under the direction of a physician.
6. Prepares and positions patients for procedures by using established MRI protocols to achieve high-quality images.
7. Instructs students and residents and performs preceptor duties when necessary.
8. Assists in maintaining supply inventory.
9. Performs other duties as assigned.

Position Compensation Range: $33.27 - $53.23 Hourly

Minimum Requirements

• Education: Graduate of a JRC accredited program in Radiography required. Associate's Degree preferred. Eligible for ARRT (MR) certification required.
• Experience: No experience required.
• Licensure: Must be licensed in X-Ray, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, or Radiation Therapy by ARRT, ARDMS, or NMTCB. MR Certification via ARRT required within one year of hire. AHA Healthcare Provider BLS certification required.

Physical Demands

Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequent bending/stooping, reaching (overhead, extensive, and repetitive); Repetitive motion: computer keyboard. Proficient communication, auditory, and visual skills; attention to detail; ability to lift/push/pull 50-100 lbs. May be exposed to cold, dust, noise, radiation, blood/body fluids, and infectious diseases.
