Job summary

Seagate is seeking an experienced Equipment Engineer to develop and deploy manufacturing equipment for wafer production. You will oversee tool performance, drive automation, and apply Six Sigma to maximize efficiency across Deposition, Etching, and Annealing processes.

The role requires deep knowledge of statistical methods, experimental design, and hands-on experience with vacuum-based tooling in a high‑tech environment. On-site Bloomington, MN campus with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• PhD required or equivalent research background in relevant field.
• Experience with wafer manufacturing equipment and SEMI processes preferred.
• Strong data analytics with statistical software and experimental design.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy equipment (deposition, etching, annealing) in manufacturing.
• Oversee tool issues, scrap, cycle-time reduction, and maintenance.
• Build factory automation to improve tool performance (C#, Python, R).
• Implement KPIV controls, OCAPs, MP instructions, and safety training.
