Job summary

Ernst & Young LLP seeks a WAF Operations Solution Engineer to configure and maintain web application firewalls, protecting client applications from cyber threats. You will monitor traffic and respond to incidents while collaborating with cross-functional teams to strengthen security controls.

You’ll leverage Cloudflare and Imperva, and use Terraform to automate deployment and management of WAF solutions, mentoring junior engineers along the way.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS, IT, cybersecurity or related field.
• 3–5 years of web application security operations experience.
• Hands-on with Cloudflare and Imperva.
• Terraform for infrastructure automation preferred.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• ITIL familiarity may be a plus.

Responsibilities

• Configure and optimize WAF solutions to protect web apps.
• Provide ongoing operational coverage of WAFs.
• Monitor traffic and security events to detect threats.
• Analyze security incidents and perform root-cause analysis.
• Collaborate with incident response teams during incidents.
• Develop WAF policies and documentation.
• Support security audits and assessments.
• Stay updated on threats and security tech.
• Utilize Cloudflare and Imperva for deployment and management.
• Leverage Terraform to automate WAF infrastructure.
• Mentor junior engineers on WAF management.
