Job summary

EY is seeking a WAF Operations Solution Engineer to configure and manage web application firewalls, protecting client applications from cyber threats and supporting change requests and incident response.

You will work with Cloudflare and Imperva, apply Terraform IaC, monitor traffic and security events, and mentor junior engineers while collaborating with cross-functional teams to strengthen the organization’s security posture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, cybersecurity, or related field preferred.
• 3-5 years of experience in web application security operations focusing on WAF management.
• Hands-on experience with WAF solutions such as Cloudflare and Imperva.
• Proficiency in using Terraform for infrastructure automation preferred.
• Strong understanding of web app protocols, security principles, and best practices.
• Familiarity with ITIL processes and ticketing systems for incident management.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, Security+) are a plus.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Configure, manage, and optimize WAF solutions to secure web applications.
• Provide ongoing operational coverage of web application firewalls.
• Monitor application traffic and security events for threats and vulnerabilities.
• Analyze security incidents, perform root cause analysis and remediation.
• Collaborate with incident response teams to investigate security incidents.
• Develop and maintain WAF policies, rules, and documentation.
• Support security audits and assessments, ensuring compliance.
• Stay updated on emerging threats and technologies to improve security posture.
• Utilize WAF solutions including Cloudflare and Imperva and Terraform for IaC.
