Job summary

We are seeking a WABO Special Inspector to support large transportation projects in the PNW, bringing certification and field expertise to inspections, reporting, and quality control.

The ideal candidate will hold a WABO certification (preferably structural steel and post-tensioned concrete), have strong communication, be able to read and interpret drawings, and

Qualifications

• WABO certification required. Preferably structural steel and post-tensioned concrete.
• ICC certifications (multiple categories), ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician Grade I, Radiation Safety/Nuclear Density Gauge, WSDOT/WAQTC, CWI, NACE or similar materials-related certs.
• Basic problem solving and decision-making skills.
• Ability to meet timelines including short, long and emergency timeframes.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Must be able to lift, carry, push and pull up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Familiarity with construction practices and materials testing.
• Valid driver’s license upon hire.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections as scheduled.
• Communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
• Read, interpret, and understand project specifications and drawings.
• Prepare timely and accurate field reports and testing documentation.
• Ensure accuracy and timeliness of results.
