Qualifications

• Master’s degree in social services or related field with practicum preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in social services or related field with paid social service experience required.
• Twelve months as a Social Service Specialist 1 plus completion of agency training within 12 months.
• Knowledge of Medicaid laws and long-term care policies.

Responsibilities

• Conduct long-term care functional assessments in-person and remotely to determine WA Cares Fund eligibility.
• Interpret assessment findings to approve or deny WA Cares Fund services.
• Develop and implement individualized service plans for long-term supports.
• Educate individuals, families, professionals, and the public about program benefits and options.
• Provide guidance on provider enrollment, service search processes, and rate-setting.
