Job summary

DSHS HCLA is hiring an Intake Specialist (Program Specialist 3) to support the WA Cares Fund in Region 2. The role focuses on interviewing applicants and representatives, reviewing information, and coordinating assessment scheduling to determine suitable long-term care options.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in planning, policy analysis, coordination, or related field and two years of professional experience.
• Six years of professional or practical experience in planning, policy analysis, coordination, and consultation with public or private agencies.

Responsibilities

• Interview applicants and representatives to assess long-term care needs and medical history.
• Determine and explain appropriate assessment options and scheduling.
• Educate on WA Cares Fund services and enrollment processes.
• Provide referrals to community, state, and federal programs.
• Maintain accurate records and complete documentation in systems.
• Interpret policies and meet deadlines while supporting team operations.
• Mentor new team members as needed.
