Job summary

gpac is seeking a Commercial Loan Assistant to support the commercial loan team in bank operations and client service. You will process loan requests, monitor records, and assist with closings while ensuring regulatory compliance and thorough documentation.

The role emphasizes accurate record-keeping, cross‑department collaboration, and delivering professional service to commercial customers throughout the loan lifecycle.

Qualifications

• 1 year or more experience in bank lending or loan operations.
• Understanding of commercial lending processes and loan documentation.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and deadlines with high attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel; banking loan software (Jack Henry or Fiserv) preferred.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process loan requests, extensions, advances, and modifications with lenders.
• Keep loan records current and monitor exceptions while meeting regulatory/documentation requirements.
• Assist with loan closings by coordinating documents with borrowers, attorneys, and realtors.
• Provide professional service as a primary contact for commercial customers throughout the loan lifecycle.
• Support cross‑department collaboration to maintain up‑to‑date files and resolve inquiries.

Position: Commercial Loan Assistant

What You'll Do:

• Partner with experienced commercial lenders and the lending team to accurately and efficiently process loan requests, extensions, advances, and modifications.
• Keep loan records current and monitor exceptions while ensuring all regulatory and bank documentation requirements are met.
• Assist with loan closings by coordinating necessary documents with borrowers, attorneys, and realtors.
• Provide exceptional, professional service as a key contact for commercial customers throughout the loan lifecycle.
• Support cross-departmental collaboration to maintain up-to-date files and promptly resolve loan-related inquiries.
• Prepare detailed loan documentation, reports, correspondence, and credit memos for lenders and management.
• Contribute to special projects, enhancing team success and operational excellence.

What We're Looking For:

• At least 1 year of related experience, preferably in bank lending or loan operations.
• Understanding of commercial lending processes and thorough knowledge of loan documentation.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and deadlines with high attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel. Banking Loan Software such as Jack Henry or Fiserv products is desired.
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and sound judgment.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field preferred.
