Job summary

Gurnick Academy of Medical Arts is seeking a Cardiac Sonography (Ultrasound) Clinical Coordinator for the Van Nuys, CA campus. The role oversees daily clinical internships, ensures protocol adherence, and acts as the liaison between classroom labs and clinical sites.

The ideal candidate has ARDMS and RDCS credentials with current licensure, plus 3–5 years as a staff sonographer and 1–3 years as an instructor. This full-time position offers comprehensive benefits and ongoing program coordination.

Qualifications

• AS Degree or BS degree preferred.
• Must hold ARDMS and RDCS credentials with current licensure in good standing.
• Minimum 3–5 years as a staff sonographer in an imaging facility.
• 1–3 years as an instructor preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily clinical internships for Ultrasound students at affiliated sites.
• Oversee student preparation for internships and rotations.
• Learn and utilize Trajecsys for site monitoring, attendance and competencies.
• Act as liaison between lab classroom and clinical sites to enforce protocols.
• Collaborate with Program Director and Dean on new site protocols and updates.
• Assist in clinical site acquisition and maintenance for internships.
• Document student progress, attendance, competencies and probation in Trajecsys and intranet.
• Support didactic classroom delivery under Program Director guidance.

CC’s manage and oversee student’s preparation for internship and placement at clinical rotations. CC must learn to use Trajecsys for monitoring of sites, attendance, competencies and communication with clinical instructors. CC must learn sonographer responsibilities, site expectations and protocols of each internship affiliate. The CC is the liaison between the lab classroom and the clinical sites to ensure that UT students are learning all protocol expectations of various clinical sites. CC will work with the UT Program Director and the Dean of Imaging with updates as to new protocols from clinical sites.Clinical site acquisition assistance and/or participation and maintenance is a key responsibility for this role. CC student management includes student satisfactory internship progress maintenance, attendance, competency schedule and academic probation documentation. All documentation will be accounted for in student files, Trajecsys and intranet.
