Job summary

Universal Industrial Gases, Inc. (UIG), a Nucor subsidiary based in Bethlehem, PA, seeks a VPSA Process Engineer to develop process designs for VPSA oxygen projects and to support startup and ongoing operations.

You will perform process simulations, develop PFDs and heat and material balances, review vendor proposals, and interface with customers and suppliers while staying current with new process technologies.

Qualifications

• BS in Chemical Engineering required and MS preferred.
• Minimum five years of VPSA/adsorption experience for oxygen production.
• Experience in developing PFDs and H&MB.
• Knowledge of process equipment sizing and utility calculations.
• Proficient with MS Office; strong communication skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 20%.

Responsibilities

• Develop process designs and specifications for VPSA projects.
• Provide process support for start-up and ongoing operations.
• Analyze costs and select optimum design cases.
• Perform process simulations and prepare data sheets.
• Develop PFDs and H&MB, participate in P&IDs, HAZOP.
