Airgas, Houston, TX, is hiring a Project Engineer to design, engineer, and create precise P&IDs and specifications for nitrogen pumping units and trailer-mounted vaporizer units (TMVUs) to guide vendor builds and legacy retrofits.

You will upgrade HMI/PLC software, develop a telemetry roadmap for remote monitoring and predictive failures, and collaborate with maintenance teams to optimize asset performance while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical or chemical) or higher.
• Minimum of 2 years of industrial experience.
• Working knowledge of the industrial gases industry, products, and customers preferred.
• Nitrogen pumping experience desirable.

Responsabilités

• Design, engineer, and create precise P&IDs and specifications for nitrogen pumping units and TMVUs to guide vendor builds.
• Lead retroactive engineering to produce accurate P&IDs for legacy units and maintain red-line P&IDs.
• Upgrade HMI/PLC software with robust data logging and develop telemetry roadmap for remote monitoring and predictive analysis.
• Collaborate with mechanics on predictive/preventive maintenance; set lifecycle standards for safety-critical gear.
• Track asset utilization, maintenance, usage trends, and downtime; present metrics in monthly reviews to leadership.
• Define operator competencies and maintain data packages for sales and operations.
