Job summary

Airgas, an Air Liquide company, is seeking a Project Engineer to design P&IDs for nitrogen pumping units and TMVUs, and to lead retrofits and safety-critical equipment initiatives in Houston. The role involves upgrading control systems, developing telemetry for remote monitoring, and coordinating with mechanics on maintenance and lifecycle standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, preferably mechanical or chemical.
• A minimum of 2 years of industrial experience.
• Working knowledge of the industrial gases industry, products, and customers is preferred.
• Previous nitrogen pumping business experience is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Design, engineer, and create precise P&IDs and specifications for new nitrogen pumping units and trailer-mounted vaporizer units.
• Lead retroactive engineering to produce P&IDs for legacy units and maintain red-line P&IDs across pumps.
• Upgrade HMI/PLC software and develop a telemetry roadmap for remote monitoring and predictive analysis.
• Partner with mechanics on predictive/preventive maintenance and lifecycle standards for safety-critical gear.
• Track asset utilization and downtime; present metrics to leadership in monthly reviews.
• Define operator competencies and data packages as reference tools for sales and operations.
