Job summary

La Petite Academy, Inc. in Florida is seeking a Lead VPK Teacher to plan, assess and deliver developmentally appropriate instruction for 4-year-olds in alignment with VPK requirements.

You will create engaging lessons, mentor fellow teachers, and ensure classroom management and compliance with state licensing and company standards, while building strong relationships with enrolled and prospective families to support the center’s success.

Qualifications

• CDA, Associates degree or higher in education or Florida Child Care Professional Certificate.
• Experience leading a classroom and creating educational lesson plans.
• Ability to meet state requirements for education and childcare center licensing.
• Ability to work indoors or outdoors with children.

Responsibilities

• Create fun, interactive learning experiences while mentoring fellow Teachers.
• Care! Promote the social, physical, and intellectual growth of the preschool children in your class.
• Call the shots! Lead classroom management and curriculum implementation, plus be an expert on licensing guidelines, company standards and VPK requirements.
• Communicate! Build sincere relationships with enrolled and prospective families to promote achievement for the child and center’s success.

The VPK, Voluntary Prekindergarten Education Program, prepares early learners for success in kindergarten and beyond. VPK helps build a strong foundation for school using educational material corresponding to various stages in a child's development. The VPK Lead Teacher is responsible for all aspects of planning, assessing and instructing 4-year old's, based on needs of each child, and the requirements of the program.

As a Lead VPK Teacher, you’ll:
