Job summary

VRChat is seeking a VP of Trust & Safety to lead and scale the Trust & Safety function across a global, 100% remote workforce. You will drive safety-by-design in product and operations, mentor a team of Trust & Safety Agents, and partner with Product, Engineering, and Operations to elevate safety standards and user trust.

The role requires 5+ years in trust & safety leadership, a strong background in content moderation, and the ability to translate complex safety concepts for diverse audiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
• 5+ years in trust and safety leadership within a consumer-facing tech company.
• Strong understanding of content moderation practices and policy development.
• Proven ability to lead high-performing teams focused on safety and well-being.
• Ability to collaborate across departments and advocate for safety needs.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high-performing Trust & Safety team with a culture of empathy and integrity.
• Lead the Product function to set strategy for Trust and Safety within the product.
• Drive the trust and safety strategy with clear goals and metrics.
• Collaborate across product to design safety into the product, not as an afterthought.
• Oversee moderation of content and user behavior reports for policy compliance.
• Develop and implement scalable moderation and safety policies and training.
• Engage with external partners and government agencies as needed.
• Provide updates and strategic insight to executive leadership.
• Stay ahead of industry trends and regulatory developments in online safety.
