Job summary

VRChat is seeking a Head of People to lead a lean, high-impact People function in a fully remote, global organization. You will partner with the CEO and leaders to align performance, development, and culture with the company’s mission, while building scalable processes and accountable teams.

You’ll balance strategic judgment with practical delivery, coaching managers, guiding compensation and leveling, and ensuring inclusive, remote-first practices across a distributed workforce.

Qualifications

• Proven track record leading a lean People function at a growing tech company.
• Experience building and executing People programs with measurable impact.
• Ability to guide People through organizational change and culture building.
• Demonstrated experience improving workflows with automation or AI.

Responsibilities

• Partner with senior leaders to strengthen leadership alignment and accountability.
• Translate People priorities into practical deliverables with clear owners and milestones.
• Lead and develop the People team with priorities, tools, and coaching.
• Build trust as a reliable partner to employees and managers in core operations.
• Run performance calibration and manager accountability processes and fairness.
• Coach managers through feedback, ER issues, and organizational changes.
• Use engagement and performance data to surface risks and gaps with recommendations.
• Lead leveling and compensation development in partnership with executives and Finance.
• Apply automation and AI to improve People operations with safeguards.
• Collaborate on workforce planning, candidate experience, and onboarding lifecycle.
• Sustain an inclusive, remote-first culture across a global workforce.
