Job summary

VRChat is seeking a full‑stack engineer to join the Trust and Safety Tech team. You will help build scalable moderation and safety systems within a MERN stack (Node.js/Mongo backend and React frontend).

The role emphasizes privacy, risk-aware design, and reliable on‑call operations across a remote, cross‑functional team. You will work on features for platform safety, UI/UX for moderation tools, and collaboration with product, design and other engineers to deliver high‑quality code with

Qualifications

• Professional experience developing, building and maintaining web applications.
• Proficiency in the MERN stack and Redis.
• Experience building scalable RESTful APIs and responsive UIs with React.
• Familiarity with version control, CI/CD, and on-call reliability practices.
• Comfort designing for adversarial users and protecting privacy.
• Ability to collaborate with product, design and other engineers in a remote setting.
• Interest in online communities, VR, or VRChat is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain new features for VRChat platform and operations.
• Enhance safety systems, build UI/UX and backend for support and moderation.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to translate vision into code.
• Contribute through all feature lifecycle from concept to deployment and iteration.
• Ensure usability, stability, reliability, and performance of moderation services; participate in on-call rotations.
• Participate in code reviews to uphold code quality and architecture.
• Foster collaborative, outcome-driven product delivery.
