Job summary

AppFolio is seeking a Vice President, Total Rewards to lead and evolve our global Total Rewards strategy, aligning compensation, equity, and benefits with business goals and AI-driven workforce shifts.

You will partner with the Chief People Officer and Board, translating data into actionable recommendations, and building a high-performing team across Compensation, Benefits, and Equity. The role demands strong governance, executive presence, and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Total Rewards expert with broad expertise in compensation, equity, and benefits strategy.
• Forward-looking, able to translate market shifts into a sharper roadmap.
• Experience with Compensation Committee/Board collaboration, co-piloting with primary relationship owner.
• Deep understanding of compensation economics, job architecture, and market pricing methods.
• Excellent executive presence; can present complex material clearly to senior stakeholders.
• Proven ability to navigate organizational change and drive alignment.
• Structured, analytical leader to enforce governance and controls.
• Champions AppFolio values and high-performance culture.

Responsibilities

• Evolve Total Rewards to align with future of work and AI-driven roles.
• Partner on executive compensation strategy and board governance.
• Architect a multi-year benefits roadmap and funding strategies.
• Lead pay equity analyses and governance across Total Rewards programs.
• Enable leaders to make transparent pay decisions with clear communication.
• Build a high-performing Total Rewards team across compensation, benefits, and equity.
• Collaborate with Finance, Legal, and People teams to integrate Total Rewards with 3YP and talent strategy.
