Job summary

AppFolio is seeking a Vice President, Total Rewards to lead compensation, benefits, equity, and related strategies aligned with our talent agenda. You will partner with the Chief People Officer and the Board to evolve the 3-Year Plan and bring rigorous financial modeling to strong, data-driven decisions.

You’ll shape a multi-year Total Rewards program, incorporating AI-driven workforce changes, and lead a team spanning compensation, benefits, and equity.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of Total Rewards experience with 5+ years in senior leadership.
• Experience in a public company with direct Compensation Committee and Board exposure.
• Proven ability to develop, execute and evolve multi-year Total Rewards strategies.
• Strong analytical, storytelling, and executive communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Evolve Total Rewards for AI-driven work and future roles; shape compensation, equity, benefits, and career frameworks.
• Partner on executive compensation strategy and Board governance; co-pilot with the primary relationship owner.
• Shape a multi-year benefits strategy spanning plan design, funding, wellness, and employee experience.
• Lead annual pay equity analyses and scalable governance across programs.
• Empower leaders with tools and clear, transparent pay decision processes.
• Build and develop a high-performing Total Rewards team spanning compensation, benefits, and equity.
• Collaborate with Finance, Legal, Talent Acquisition, HRBPs, and People Operations to align with 3YP.
