Job summary

Citi seeks a hands-on Senior Platform Engineer (Python/AI) to lead end-to-end platform components for an agentic AI platform supporting the credit risk model development lifecycle.

You will design, develop, and deploy production-grade Python components, orchestrations, RAG systems, and MCP interfaces while integrating with data sources, APIs, and LLM providers. A globally distributed, hybrid team will collaborate to deliver high-impact solutions.

Qualifications

• 8–12 years of hands-on software engineering experience.
• Proficiency in Python and its data processing libraries.
• Experience with GenAI concepts such as LLMs, RAG, MCP, and agentic platforms (e.g., Google ADK).
• Hands-on work with REST APIs, SQL/databases, Unix-based and containerized environments.
• Ability to influence technical direction and champion best practices within an engineering team.
• Excellent communication to translate business needs into technical requirements for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with geographically distributed teams across time zones.

Responsibilities

• Take end-to-end ownership of discrete platform modules and drive them to completion.
• Build proofs-of-concept and prototypes to validate approaches quickly.
• Design, develop, and ship production-grade Python components for the agentic AI platform.
• Champion engineering best practices — clean code, automated testing, CI/CD, logging, monitoring.
• Build secure integrations with internal data sources, external APIs, and LLM providers.
• Invest in self-learning to stay current with GenAI and LLM technologies.
