Job summary

HarbourVest Partners, based in Boston, seeks a strategic, data-driven leader to drive enterprise talent initiatives across the firm. You will guide succession planning, talent reviews, development actions, and executive readiness while partnering with HRBPs, senior leaders, and HarbourVest University.

You will build governance, dashboards, and executive-ready materials, translating insights into targeted actions in a fast-paced, matrixed environment with strict confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Deep expertise in talent management, succession planning, executive development, leadership assessment, or organizational development.
• Strong understanding of scalable talent frameworks to improve leadership decisions.
• Experience supporting executive-level talent discussions in a matrixed, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise succession planning and talent review processes for critical roles, including selected C-suite and senior leadership populations.
• Partner with HRBPs and senior leaders to assess bench strength, identify succession risk, and develop actionable plans to improve leadership pipeline health.
• Build and drive executive talent routines, including talent review materials, calibration discussions, readiness assessments, timelines, governance, and follow-up actions.
• Translate succession and talent planning insights into targeted development strategies for senior leaders and successors, including coaching and stretch assignments.
• Collaborate with HarbourVest University, and HRBPs to align executive development investments with enterprise priorities.
• Collaborate with senior leaders and HR colleagues to advance strategic talent and organizational initiatives across the firm.
• Build and maintain talent metrics, dashboards, and executive-level reporting on succession readiness and risks.
• And other responsibilities as required.
