Job summary

Volition Capital in Boston seeks a Senior Manager, Talent to lead executive-search work for portfolio companies and internal hiring. You will partner with Chris Fahey and the recruiter to design processes, build scorecards, and drive high-quality VP and C-suite hires with a structured, coached approach.

You will own searches end-to-end, collaborate across portfolios, and contribute to HR program development and operations, acting as a trusted right hand to senior leadership.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in talent or HR within growth-stage, VC-, or PE-backed companies.
• Supported or run VP-level searches end-to-end with measurable outcomes.
• Owns decisions independently and seeks senior input.
• Thrives in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment with quarterly targets.

Responsibilities

• Run portfolio company executive searches — VP and C-suite roles — from JD and scorecard through offer, with coaching and review.
• Design interview structures and candidate-specific question guides calibrated to each role.
• Manage a portfolio of concurrent searches across multiple companies at varying stages.
• Run reference checks and close out searches with a documented rationale for the final hire.
• Partner daily with Volition's Recruiter on sourcing and screening across active searches.
• Maintain and improve Volition's structured hiring methodology.
• Support CEOs and boards as a talent advisor and report search status and pipeline health.
• Represent Volition's talent brand externally with candidates and partners.
