Job summary

Versatile Credit, Inc. in the United States is seeking a Vice President of Software Engineering to orchestrate multiple engineering teams.

You will guide sprint planning, staffing, and delivery across product, design, and QA, ensuring alignment with business goals and timely software releases. This role focuses on developing talent, fostering collaboration, and driving modernization to meet evolving merchant and lender needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent field experience.
• 7+ years of increasing leadership in the Software/Technology space, ideally as a Director/VP of Engineering.
• Proven success driving strategic technology development and modernization to meet evolving business needs.
• Strong experience coordinating and facilitating sprint planning and story pointing processes.
• Proven ability to understand project scope, develop a cohesive plan, and put teams in place to accomplish it.
• Strong coaching and mentoring skills, with ability to motivate each team member.
• Strong communication skills, connecting internal & external teams and stakeholders.
• Ability and flexibility to travel for business as required.

Responsibilities

• Lead small teams of software engineers and oversee day-to-day activities.
• Assist with project planning, estimation, and milestone setting.
• Assign tasks based on strengths and career goals.
• Ensure timely delivery and remove blockers to keep schedules.
• Coordinate with product, design, and QA for alignment.
• Communicate progress to senior management and stakeholders.
• Manage workload to maximize productivity and avoid burnout.
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback.
• Maintain documentation of processes and technical decisions.
