Job summary

SMBC Nikko Securities America is pursuing a Vice President level Application Developer to join the Information Technology team. The role focuses on designing, building, and supporting strategic business applications and platform services for Investment Banking.

You will collaborate with bankers, business stakeholders, and technology teams to deliver scalable, reliable solutions, emphasizing automation, observability, and cloud modernization. Strong leadership and problem-solving are required.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software development experience.
• Proficient in Python and SQL.
• Experience designing scalable distributed systems.
• Cloud technologies: AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience with CI/CD and deployment automation.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain strategic applications for Investment Banking.
• Partner with bankers, stakeholders, PMs, and tech teams to deliver scalable solutions.
• Design APIs, automation frameworks, and data integration solutions.
• Lead efforts to improve reliability, observability, and scalability across platforms.
• Drive modernization through cloud, CI/CD, and engineering best practices.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to architectural discussions.
