Job summary

BNY Mellon seeks a Senior Vice President, Java Full-Stack Principal Engineer in New York to lead the Data Solutions & Services team. You will drive end-to-end design, development, and modernization of scalable applications using Java, React, and modern data tools.

You will mentor engineers, set best practices, and partner with IT leadership to deliver secure, resilient software solutions while advancing AI-powered initiatives and platform modernization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent professional experience. Advanced degree preferred.
• 9–11 years of software development experience, preferably in financial services or securities industries.
• Strong full-stack development experience with Java, C#, Node.js, Angular, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, JSON, and related technologies.

Responsibilities

• Consult with internal business groups to provide advanced application software development services and technical support.
• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable full-stack applications using Java, React, Oracle, Kafka, Snowflake, Node.js, Angular, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Develop high-quality, efficient, maintainable, and testable code with automated testing and QA practices.
• Architect and implement AI-powered solutions utilizing LLMs, vector databases, and orchestration frameworks.
• Lead technical discovery, PoCs, prototyping, and innovation initiatives to evaluate emerging technologies.
