Job summary

City of Hope in Irvine seeks an Associate Vice President, Regional Philanthropy to lead major gift fundraising in Orange County, overseeing donor portfolios and crafting cultivation strategies. You will create compelling proposals, steward donor relationships, and leverage data analytics to grow revenue while upholding exceptional donor experiences across the enterprise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field required.
• Advanced degree preferred.
• 10+ years of experience leading development functions with major/principal gifts.
• 5+ years managing and developing high-performing teams.
• Proven success securing major philanthropic investments.
• Experience crafting complex gift agreements and negotiations.
• Strong leadership, coaching, and talent development skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Collaborates effectively with faculty, executives, volunteers, and donors.
• Deep understanding of fundraising principles and donor relations.

Responsibilities

• Manage and grow a portfolio of high-capacity donors and prospects for major gifts.
• Develop customized cultivation, solicitation, stewardship strategies.
• Lead multi-year fundraising initiatives aligning donor interests with priorities.
• Build and maintain relationships with donors, volunteers, faculty, executives.
• Supervise and develop frontline fundraising professionals.
• Partner across City of Hope to support enterprise fundraising goals.
• Create and deliver proposals, stewardship reports, and donor communications.
• Utilize data analytics to drive prospect strategies and revenue growth.
• Participate in strategy reviews to enhance donor engagement.
• Represent City of Hope with professionalism and donor-focused service.
