As the Associate Vice President, Regional Philanthropy, you will manage a portfolio of some of City of Hope’s most significant donors and prospects, develop sophisticated fundraising strategies, and lead high-performing fundraising teams focused on the Orange County market. This executive-level role serves as both a strategic fundraiser and trusted relationship builder, partnering closely with philanthropy leadership, faculty, administration, and donors to drive transformational philanthropic investments.

As a successful candidate, you will:
  • Manage and grow a portfolio of high-capacity donors and prospects capable of making major and principal gifts.
  • Develop and execute customized cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and relationship management strategies.
  • Lead complex, multi-year fundraising initiatives that align donor interests with institutional priorities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with donors, volunteers, faculty, executives, and community leaders.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop frontline fundraising professionals and support staff.
  • Partner across City of Hope to support enterprise fundraising goals and strategic priorities.
  • Create and deliver compelling proposals, stewardship reports, gift agreements, donor communications, and executive briefing materials.
  • Utilize fundraising data and analytics to drive prospect strategies, pipeline growth, and achievement of revenue goals.
  • Participate in philanthropy strategy reviews and collaborative planning efforts to enhance donor engagement and outcomes.
  • Represent City of Hope with professionalism, integrity, and a commitment to exceptional donor experiences.
Your qualifications should include:

  • 5+ years of experience managing and developing high-performing teams.
  • Demonstrated success securing major philanthropic investments and leading complex donor engagement strategies.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, executives, volunteers, and donors.
  • Strong judgment, discretion, and experience handling confidential donor information.
  • Deep understanding of fundraising principles, donor relations, and philanthropic communities.
  • Experience with fundraising and business applications such as Salesforce, Tableau, Microsoft Office Suite, and related systems.
