Job Description
26North is seeking a Vice President to lead financial planning and analysis (FP&A) and strategy for Real Assets, which comprises the Asset-Backed Finance (ABF) and Commercial Real Estate (CRE) Credit strategies within our Private Credit platform. Based in New York and reporting to the Chief Financial Officer of Private Credit, you will serve as the finance and strategy partner to the Real Assets investment and product teams.
The role goes well beyond traditional FP&A. Alongside forecasting and modeling, you will own management reporting and board materials, help shape strategy and new products, and support financing, fund launches, and investor relations. You will work closely with a peer Vice President who covers our Corporate Credit strategies (Direct Lending and Hybrid Capital Solutions), so that each side of the platform has a dedicated finance lead.
Responsibilities
- Own budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning for the ABF and CRE Credit strategies, analyzing revenue drivers, fee economics, expense allocations, and profitability
- Model earnings, leverage, liquidity, and capital needs across Real Assets vehicles
- Track AUM growth, capital deployment, and returns through dashboards and KPIs, and run scenario analysis to support investment, financing, and capital allocation decisions
- Partner with the peer Vice President covering Corporate Credit on platform-wide planning, consistent methodologies, and multi-strategy vehicles that span both businesses
Management Reporting & Board Materials
- Produce the monthly management packet for Real Assets, reviewing the deal pipeline and refreshing pipeline models to show the impact on earnings and revenue
- Prepare board decks and executive materials for the Management Committee and Board
- Perform ad hoc analysis and reporting in collaboration with the Advisory and Cross Platform Investments teams
- Improve reporting and analytics through automation and system enhancements
- Act as a thought partner to Private Credit leadership on Real Assets strategy
- Lead competitive and market analysis, benchmarking Real Assets against peers
- Evaluate strategic initiatives, including M&A, fund structures, and new product launches, and support product development from structuring and economics through launch
Financing, Investor Relations & Operations
- Help the investment team negotiate subscription lines and other bank facilities
- Contribute to investor reporting, diligence requests, and fundraising materials
- Coordinate day-to-day business operations for Real Assets across the investment, product, finance, legal, and compliance teams
Qualifications
Experience
- 6-10+ years of FP&A, corporate finance, or strategy experience at a private credit manager, business development company (BDC), or alternative asset manager
- Hands-on experience forecasting fund-level economics for BDCs, credit funds, or similar vehicles, including earnings, leverage, liquidity, and capital needs
- Track record of supporting senior leadership on strategic initiatives such as fund launches, new products, financing transactions, or M&A, and of preparing board-level materials
- Prior ABF or CRE experience is a plus but not required; strong private credit finance professionals from other strategies are encouraged to apply
- Expert financial modeling and forecasting skills for complex, multi-entity structures, with the judgment to turn analysis into clear recommendations for senior leaders
- Strong command of private credit structures, fund economics, and performance metrics
- Exceptional attention to detail, paired with a strategic mindset and executive presence
- Comfort managing multiple workstreams in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Strong track record and demonstrated commitment to upholding our core values of stewardship, integrity, excellence, teamwork, and respect
Education
- Bachelor's degree required; MBA, CFA, or CPA preferred
