Job description

We are partnering with one of the world's leading alternative asset managers on a confidential search for a Vice President to join its Corporate FP&A team in New York. Our client invests on behalf of institutional and individual investors across real estate, private equity, credit, infrastructure, life sciences, growth equity, secondaries and hedge fund strategies. The firm's scale and diversified platform make Corporate FP&A a central seat with visibility across every business line.

Corporate FP&A provides the firmwide view of our client's financial performance and outlook. The team leads forecasting and management reporting, supports the quarterly earnings process, and develops analysis for the CFO and senior management. The group also partners closely with business-unit finance teams, originates and executes strategic firm initiatives, and drives consistent, scalable finance processes across the organization. This is a high-visibility role with direct exposure to the CFO, senior leadership and the board-reporting process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own the firmwide forecast and weekly management reporting, turning consolidated numbers into clear insights for leadership
  • Play a central role each quarter in assembling, reviewing and explaining reported results ahead of earnings
  • Dig into the performance of individual business lines and corporate functions to surface trends, drivers and risks
  • Build and maintain financial models, including valuation work, to inform key decisions
  • Translate analysis into polished decks and written memos for the CFO and executive team
  • Shape materials for the board and audit committee, earnings calls and senior leadership meetings
  • Contribute to annual budgeting, long-range strategic planning and the evaluation of new business opportunities
  • Serve as a finance point of contact for Business Finance and Investor Relations when supporting investor and client discussions
  • Champion process and systems improvements that make reporting faster, more accurate and more scalable
  • Benchmark the firm against peers by tracking competitor earnings and financial disclosures
  • Respond to time-sensitive requests from the CFO and senior management with thoughtful, fast-turnaround analysis
  • Take on high-impact special projects across the firm's investment businesses
Qualifications
  • At least six years in a finance role, ideally within FP&A, management reporting, or a transaction or advisory practice
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field, backed by solid academic credentials
  • Proven ability to build robust models and work comfortably with complex, quantitative data
  • Expert-level Excel and PowerPoint, plus strong Word skills; familiarity with Essbase, Anaplan or Tableau is a bonus
  • Confident communicator who can present findings clearly to senior audiences, in writing and in person
  • Meticulous and well organized, able to juggle competing priorities and deliver on tight timelines
  • Self-starter who anticipates needs rather than waiting for direction, while thriving as part of a close-knit team
  • Builds trust easily with colleagues across the firm and with outside stakeholders
  • Energetic, upbeat and drawn to a fast-moving, entrepreneurial culture
