Responsibilities

• Provide senior technical expertise across aircraft types and powerplants.
• Evaluate engine condition, maintenance status, remaining life, and LLPs.
• Review engine maintenance programs, overhaul plans, and shop visit requirements.
• Support aircraft acquisitions, disposals, transitions, and technical due diligence.
• Conduct detailed technical assessments identifying risk and cost exposure.
• Review maintenance records, MRO documentation, and technical specs.
• Collaborate with airlines, MROs, OEMs, and other partners on technical matters.
• Lead or support technical negotiations on engine condition and maintenance.
• Provide clear operational and commercial implications to management.
• Identify emerging risks and mitigation strategies for asset value.
• Support forecasts, budgets, and long-term asset planning.
• Monitor engine and MRO market developments and capacity.

Powerplant Engineer – Aviation / Aircraft Leasing

This role combines deep powerplant and engine expertise with broader aircraft technical knowledge, requiring the ability to work across multiple aircraft types and engage effectively with airlines, MROs, OEMs, technical representatives, and other external partners.

The position requires a commercially minded technical professional who can challenge technical assumptions, identify and manage risk, and protect the interests of the business while maintaining constructive and effective long-term relationships with key industry partners.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide senior technical expertise across aircraft types, engine, and broader aircraft technical matters within a diverse commercial aircraft portfolio.
• Evaluate engine and powerplant condition, maintenance status, technical performance, remaining life, shop visit requirements, LLP status, engine records, and associated technical risks.
• Review and assess engine maintenance programmes, shop visit requirements, overhaul plans, engine removals, performance trends, and technical forecasts.
• Support aircraft acquisitions, disposals, transitions, leasing transactions, inspections, technical due diligence, and portfolio management activities.
• Conduct detailed technical assessments of aircraft and engines, identifying key areas of risk, cost exposure, maintenance requirements, and potential value impact.
• Review technical documentation, maintenance records, engine records, inspection reports, workscopes, technical specifications, and MRO documentation.
• Work closely with airlines, MROs, OEMs, engine manufacturers, technical consultants, and other external stakeholders to resolve technical matters and manage agreed technical requirements.
• Lead or support technical negotiations relating to engine condition, maintenance status, shop visits, LLPs, performance, return conditions, technical claims, and other powerplant-related matters.
• Provide technically robust recommendations to senior management and commercial teams, translating complex engineering issues into clear operational, financial, and commercial implications.
• Challenge technical assumptions and proposed solutions where appropriate, balancing technical integrity, commercial considerations, operational requirements, and risk.
• Support the development and review of engine maintenance forecasts, cost assumptions, technical budgets, and long-term asset planning.
• Monitor engine and powerplant market developments, maintenance trends, MRO capacity, OEM developments, technical issues, and broader industry developments relevant to the portfolio.
• Identify emerging technical risks and opportunities and provide appropriate mitigation strategies to protect aircraft and engine asset value.
• Support aircraft and engine transitions, including technical inspections, records reviews, maintenance status assessments, acceptance and return processes, and coordination with relevant stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with airlines, MROs, OEMs, lessors, technical advisors, and other strategic industry partners.
