Job summary

Switch is seeking a Vice President of Power Generation Development to lead the strategic development and execution of utility-scale power generation projects that support our data-center growth. You will oversee a portfolio of gas-fired and storage assets, guiding development from inception to commercial operation while coordinating with Engineering, Finance, Legal, and Executive teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Energy Management, Finance, or a related field.
• 10+ years of progressive experience leading utility-scale power generation or energy infrastructure development.
• Proven success developing gas-fired generation projects and leading development from early-stage through commercial operation.

Responsibilities

• Develop long-term strategy for Switch's utility-scale power generation and battery energy storage portfolio.
• Lead the full development lifecycle for new generation projects from site evaluation through commercial operation.
• Identify and advance opportunities across competitive power markets; manage multiple projects.
• Oversee interconnection strategy, transmission planning, permitting, and regulatory compliance.
• Negotiate complex commercial agreements and manage relationships with stakeholders and partners.
• Present recommendations and business cases to executive leadership and Board-level stakeholders.
