Los Angeles Opera seeks a transformative Vice President of Human Resources and Labor Relations to lead HR strategy, labor relations, and organizational culture across our diverse workforce. The role reports to the CEO and partners with the executive team to advance artistic excellence within fiscal discipline and a dynamic work environment.

Qualifications

• Ten years of leadership experience in HR and labor relations, preferably in a nonprofit or performing arts environment.
• Proven ability to negotiate and manage multiple CBAs with strategic acumen.
• Fluency with federal and state employment laws, especially California requirements.
• Experience shaping organizational culture and EDIB initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Advise the CEO and board on human capital, culture, and workplace strategy.
• Lead labor relations across nine collective bargaining agreements.
• Direct compensation, benefits, talent acquisition, and HRIS governance.
• Oversee EDIB, organizational design, and leadership development.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and risk management for employment law.
