Job summary

Goldman Sachs in Dallas seeks a Vice President of Software Engineering to design, deploy, and maintain high-availability database environments (SingleStore, MongoDB, Sybase) supporting mission-critical applications. You will lead performance tuning, backup/recovery, and SDLC integration with automated testing.

The role requires a Bachelor's or Master's in CS/CE/IS and 5+ years (or 3+ with a Master’s) in relational and NoSQL databases, cloud infra (AWS/Azure), with strong Python/Unix scripting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/CE/IS or related field with 5 years of DB experience.
• Master’s degree in CS/CE/IS or related field with 3 years of DB experience.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (MySQL, SingleStore, DB2, MongoDB, Cassandra).

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain database environments to support mission-critical applications.
• Implement backup/recovery, monitoring, and performance tuning.
• Collaborate with IAM and middleware teams to integrate identity and entitlements with DB ecosystem.
• Drive SDLC integration and automated testing for database releases.
