Job summary

BNY is seeking a Vice President, Service Designer to lead innovative CX/UX initiatives in New York. You will run design thinking workshops, map journeys, develop personas, wireframes and prototypes, and collaborate with product and engineering teams to align user needs with business goals.

This hybrid role requires a strong portfolio in enterprise UX within financial services, excellent communication, and the ability to influence across cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Relevant years of experience in global financial services or fintech with a strong UX/Service Design portfolio.
• Ability to analyze problems with structured, analytical approaches to create solutions.
• Proficiency in user journey mapping, design thinking, and ideation workshops.
• Solid understanding of user-centered service design principles and best practices.
• Experience with user research, usability testing, and data-driven design decisions.
• Visual design competence with deep UX understanding.
• Proficiency with design tools such as Figma, Figjam, Miro, Adobe XD, or similar.

Responsibilities

• Lead design thinking workshops and ideation sessions; build consensus among teams and stakeholders.
• Map user journeys to visualize interactions, identify pain points and opportunities.
• Develop personas, wireframes and prototypes; iterate from stakeholder feedback and usability tests.
• Collaborate with product managers and development teams to define user needs and project requirements.
• Create and maintain design guidelines, pattern libraries and cohesive design systems.
• Conduct user research, usability testing and heuristic evaluations to refine experiences.
• Stay updated on CX/UX trends and emergent technologies to bring innovative approaches.
